Reject Issue #24: A Taxpayer Trap Fueled by Special Interests

The Committee Supporting Groveport Madison Schools Issue #24 received over $21,000.00 in financial contributions from vendors, contractors, architectural firms, and attorneys. These businesses are located outside the district and do not pay our property taxes. But they do business with our district, including receiving no-bid contracts for hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars. This financial backing sparks serious alarm about conflicts of interest and bias in decision-making within the Groveport Madison Schools.

The Groveport Madison Citizens for Safety, Education, and Accountability, a local grassroots group that opposes Issue #24, has raised a few hundred from local citizens who live in the district. Both board members Kathleen Walsh and John Kershner oppose the superintendent's plan. Issue #24 is a flawed plan that will significantly raise operating costs, forcing the district to demand more funding from voters.

Do not allow the superintendent and his corporate allies to dictate the future of our schools. They don't even live in our district. It is crucial that decisions regarding our children's education are made with their best interests in mind, not those of outside interests looking to profit. The residents of Groveport Madison Local School District must come together to ensure that our schools remain focused on providing quality education for our students, rather than serving the interests of outside businesses. Take a stand against Issue #24 to safeguard the future of our community.
